CASSANDRA'S musical style builds on the traditions of Melissa Etheridge, Sheryl Crow and Sarah Mclachlan,
but is uniquely her own. Inspired by personal experiences and a true desire to help others through music, her original songs focus on love, loss, self-reflection, healing and dreams. "Cassandra is a down to earth, energetic and emotional performer who connects with her audience straight from the heart." She is available to perform concerts as a solo artist, an acoustic duo or with her band
Cassandra and the Gravel Road Band

I wanted to express how grateful I am for the opportunity to be able to spend everyday doing what I love.  What an incredible journey my life has been. I can honestly say that at 42, I have finally come to a place of peace and I am moving into this year feeling grounded and very clear about why I am a singer, writer and teacher.  It is and always has been about connection for me. I have struggled for years trying to figure out where I fit in, trying to "make it" in this business. In the past couple years I was feeling desperate, because I was getting older and feeling like I did not have much time to make a go of it. I boxed myself in and told myself that if it didn't work this time, I was done.  So many things have happened in this last year that have really made me look at myself and how I have been doing things. So, as I move forward, I plan to continue to do what I do best. I plan to keep being a musician. I plan to keep writing songs and playing them for people who want to listen and I plan to continue helping others.  I had an amazing conversation with a woman from Nashville who is a career performer. She said that I needed to just focus on creating my own place in the music world and stop trying to fit ino the success model that has so permeated our culture. There is no way to ever feel like you have accomplished anything if you feel like you have to fit into that.  I thought that was good advice.   Peace to you all and I hope you all find joy in 2012!  Cassandra

We had a great time at the Lakeside Fall Fest last weekend. Our loyal fan Roger Sherman bought the band apple cider donuts to play "The Teacher" and "Colors" They were delicious and one of the best tips we have ever gotten!!  We also introduced Rick Van Dyne on guitar at this show. He did a great job! The band will be donating it's time to support Breast Cancer Research at Java Planet in Woodstock on October 29th. Come support a great cause, have some excellent coffee and hang out with the band for the afternoon. Stay tuned for news on an upcoming series we are kicking off at Oddfellows in Woodstock on November 11th and there may even be a holiday show in the works! I am heading back to Nashville in November to do some songwriting with a new friend I met on my last trip. I plan to attend a Nashville Songwriters Association pitch to publisher night while I am there and hopefully catch some great music and meet some more new people. I am looking forward to all that the future brings. Music is my joy and it is such a gift to be able to share it and make it my life every day. Blessings to you all, Cassandra
