Finding Your Footing Before the Lights Come Up

I have spent the better part of thirty-five years standing in the wings.
There is a powerful silence that happens just before a performer steps into the spotlight. In that silence, everything surfaces: the preparation, the nerves, the "am I enough?" and the deep, human desire to truly connect.
I’ve witnessed that same moment in the eyes of a leader or entrepreneur about to walk into a high-stakes meeting, in a speaker preparing for their first keynote, and in the held breath of an artist about to share their truth for the first time.
What I’ve learned is that we don’t find our confidence just on the stage. We find it in the practice. We find it in the "moment before."
In the arts, our "moment before" is called the sound check. It’s our sacred time to test the room, find the floor beneath our feet, and ensure our voice will carry. It’s where we give ourselves permission to be imperfect so that, later, we can be authentic, present, and trust ourselves.
I believe confidence is really just another word for self-trust.

But self-trust requires a safe place to practice. It requires a space where you can get out of your head and into your body where you can find the presence that is uniquely yours without the pressure of "performing."
I realized recently that I wanted to create more of those safe spaces. I wanted to build "practice rooms" for the voice, whether that voice is delivering a presentation or a song.
That is why I’ve reimagined my work into two distinct homes: The Speaker Studio and The Vocal Studio.
One is for the speakers and leaders navigating the professional stage; the other is for the artists and seekers refining their craft. Both are built on the same foundation: the belief that when you are grounded in your truth, your voice becomes an instrument of incredible impact.
If you’ve been feeling a gap between who you are and how you’re showing up, I want you to know that it’s okay to need a sound check. It’s okay to take the time to practice and find your footing.
The house is opening soon, and the lights are warming up. I’m here to help you get ready.
Let’s build your confident voice.
